It’s the New Year once again and so you probably have made a few New Year’s resolution once the clock struck 12. You probably made a resolution for current year to get healthier and work out. Health and fitness are very important to everyone. You want to make sure that you are at the right weight for your height and that you are getting enough exercise to keep your body fit and ward of illnesses. Now, how can you make sure that you reach these goals? Well, there are three things you can do to make sure you reach your 2014 fitness goals: Joining a gym, working with a personal trainer, and structuring your workouts. Let’s take a look at each one.

1) If You Haven’t Already, Join a Gym

Or if you have, start going! Most people think gyms are just big money wasters. You can certainly do many things for free – jog outside, like cans of food, or even stretch out on the floor. However, joining a gym can help you focus on your goals and push yourself to workout. For one thing, you will start thinking about all that money you spent and what a waste it is if you didn’t go. Sure, you can always jog in the park, but if you’re feeling lazy, you can make lots of excuses and you won’t feel bad missing a session because you didn’t waste any money.

Next, joining a gym can give you a place where you can just focus on getting fit. While going out to the park or doing exercises at home is free, you might also get lots of distractions. You might suddenly stop in the middle of your exercise to go sit at the café or turn on the TV and plop on the couch to veg. At the gym, you can keep focused.

2) Think about a Personal Trainer

If you’re like most people who start working out, you probably have arguments with yourself about whether you should go to the gym or not (and you probably always lose). Now, if you had a personal trainer, you’ll have someone to motivate you and push you into exercising so you can reach your goals. A personal trainer is not there to make your life miserable though.
