Without getting into whether this old remedy is good, bad, or even works, it is worth investigating.   I used it while I had a cold and was unable to tell if there was any health benefit, even though there is a lot of science behind its antibacterial effects. It has been used for thousands of years as a remedy during Greek and Roman times. Silver was used as a treatment for wounds, like burns, and to preserve water and food. Colloidal silver has been known to enhance the effects of antibiotics which can help with resolving an infection.
