RICE no more, The new post-injury guidelines in this simple to understand brochure. For years, we were told to use RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) which was the standard for most sprains and strains.   Recent research has shown that while ice may be helpful immediately, after an injury, continued use can damage tissue, prolong healing, and actually cause inflammation to worsen.
