If you have rotator cuff problems, strengthening the shoulder can be a challenge, especially since most shoulder problems also involve the core and leg muscles. Most frozen shoulders we treat are affected markedly by the hips and pelvis and often a tight hip capsule had been a precursor. As part of our rehabilitation regimen; when the flexibility of the shoulder has markedly improved and all resistance from the lower body has been resolved, I recommend these exercises using free weights to strengthen the shoulder's intrinsic muscles first. Once those muscles function better, we recommend exercises to the larger muscle groups most people perform in the gym.
