Thinking thinner? Here are 6 benefits of a Mediterranean diet.

Diets are being promoted everywhere.  Ultimately, to lose weight and keep it off requires a change in how we eat and what we eat.

Americans have a problem because so much of what we eat is processed and offers empty calories without any real benefit.

Fortunately, there is a growing awareness of the importance of daily exercise and what we eat improves the way we feel and function.

The good news is that eating more appropriately, with better portion sizes can also help you reduce your weight which is good for our joints and overall health.

The bad news is that most diets that help you lose the weight are not sustainable, and when you return to your original way of eating, the weight returns. Weight Watchers international has recently tried to latch on to this trend by marketing themselves as a wellness company instead of a diet company.  Other companies may follow suit if they succeed.

The Mediterranean diet is one way of eating that has been proven to help us stay healthy, while helping us keep our weight down. It gives you satisfying meals and portions while offering you a healthy meal.
