A while back, I authored a blog post about a family of runners where one of the children just completed a half marathon in a pair of Crocs. The blog post was expanding on an article featured in Runners World Magazine. You can check out the article in the link below. A runner just completed a fast 1/2 marathon wearing Crocs for running shoes according to Runners World Magazine. Crocs began as a company making molded garden shoes that quickly became popular with the public. Over the years, their clogs became popular in medical situations such as surgical suites because they were comfortable, doctors noticed less back pain when wearing them and they had a comfortable foot bed that had also been corrective for certain types of foot issues. Crocs has since become even more popular because of the types of styles they now produce including water shoes that I own. I always explain to patients that the sandal or clog that levels your hips and adds correction for inherited traits which can lead to lower back and other problems later on. For some, Croc’s does this job well. Others may need a different brand to correct them properly and give them the proper fit overall. Recently, the NY Times explored Croc’s and their line of shoe which include different clogs to a cowboy boot. Some have a more rigid bottom while others are softer and more pliable. Croc’s sent them a number of different styles for evaluation for the article. The reviewer tested the firmness of the shoe, the overall support and how he liked or disliked certain models. As his doctor suggested, I recommend them as well for certain patients. Check out the article below and find out how he felt about the different models he tried out for the article. My Doctor Recommended Crocs. So I Tested and Ranked Them.
