Dr. William Charschan is now a certified medical examiner for the Department of Transportation and will offer DOT evaluations for Truck Drivers. If you are a truck driver, you are required to have an evaluation to evaluate your fitness for driving the vehicle. These evaluations must be done minimally every two years to evaluate a drivers fitness for duty and level of safety when driving a large vehicle. DOT evaluations are required by law for intra and interstate drivers of large vehicles. Bus and truck drivers are required by the Department of Transportation to have these examinations. We are now certified to perform these evaluations and certify their medical fitness for duty. We are currently training our staff to make sure that the drivers who are evaluated are given appropriate appointments quickly and can receive their certificate on the day of their visit so they are in compliance with the Department of Transportations protocols, rules and procedures. Drivers will be able to request appointments directly from our web site and will also be able to download the health questionnaire from our site to help expedite their visit. Our office will begin offering this service which includes both the eye examination, color examination and urine screens in August of 2019. It is our future plan to also offer drug screens for local employers as well.
