Are you healthy? How healthy? Years ago an insurance carrier offered discounts on term life insurance if you could perform 50 pushups. Did they know something most of us didn’t? Health is not about how active we are, cholesterol is lowered with medication, blood pressure is lowered to the current norms, or a blood panel is performed at your doctor’s office. It is not governed by the perfect weight either. It is not governed by how many vaccines you have had either although this can reduce risk. Health is achieved with activity, healthy food choices, overall physical fitness, and naturally lower inflammation in the body. Health often begins with a healthy gut. It includes flexibility and can include how powerful you are and how stable your core is. The NY Times published an article on a health screen they devised to determine how healthy you are.
