When I think of a ripe juicy mango, I think about one of the amazing fruits we can buy in our markets here. While it is true that the fruit is high in sugar, it does not have the same effect on us as a chocolate chip cookie because it is high in fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and other nutrients. Recently, The New York Times published an article about a fruit that can be served alone, in salads, including poke bowls, and I have even had it served as an ingredient in sushi rolls. The naturally high-fiber fruit can also be found dried, but be cautious since the sugar and calorie content of dried fruit can be significantly higher with just a few pieces.
