Star trek style medicine is here, with a new Israeli technology that can change everything about how surgery is performed. The Israelis are known for their technological advances, and many well known tech companies have a huge presence in Israel. Israel is also known for companies that develop healthcare technologies that we use today, that can save lives. If you remember Star Trek, the diagnostics were done with a device called a Tricorder, that when placed over the body diagnosed the pathology and the problems were detected and treated during the diagnostic session. What would it be like to have an MRI and while you are diagnosed, you are already being treated, with a technology so precise that you can go home that day, with few worries, little pain and having your problem solved in a manner that is much safer than what we do today? I remember a scene in one of the Star Trek episodes that one of the team had head trauma and bones remarked "oh no, not that; they'll kill him". This new technology has the potential to save lives, cost effectively, and safely, and simplify the practice of medicine, the practice of surgery and the problem solving capabilities of doctors.
