As reported by AARP, most people in their late 50’s are on two or more drugs. Many of these drugs have side effects that people live with because they simply do not know their ill feeling is due to the drugs. Somehow, people have been brainwashed that they absolutely need all these pills and some of their health care providers have as well.
Many ER visits are due to drug reactions and the cost is in the thousands. My father who is in his 80’s had this happen a few months ago, and it caused a lack of vitality as well as swelling in his ankles. One of his doctors wanted to give him another drug to counteract the side effect of the drug that did this to him.
This is a wonderful article that sheds light on this. Somehow, we have convinced older people they cannot live without these drugs and doing so would be life threatening.
