Turmeric and your health. Turmeric is a spice found in many foods eaten in India, Thailand, and many other countries. The active ingredient called Curcumin is often recommended by our office for its high-level anti-inflammatory properties. The product we carry is called theracumin made by Integrative Therapeutics. Unlike many pharmaceutical anti-inflammatories, the only side effect of Turmeric is that it also acts as a blood thinner which can also offer benefits such as a reduced risk of stroke as well as reduced inflammatory pain.
